What? Balk?
Where was the balk? Look through the replays- you wont find it-it wasn’t there. Once again, far from convincing pitching- but only 1 run behind…the ump called an invisible balk….it ends up costing 2 runs.
Funny that, the score is 7-4 Angels……..bottom of the 9th, Adam Jones smacks one out of the park……….7-5 now(and ends that way)…..where are those other 2 runs???!!??? AHHHH
We don’t want them to have an extra 2 runs you know, we need all the help we can get.
MELVIN MORA——GLAD TO HAVE YOU BACK. First game back and right back into the swing of things.
Markakis hit streak now 15 games
Glad to see the back of Texas…
Texas’ bats just wont quieten down. Especially with pitching from Guthrie who again squandered a nice lead and then Albers.
I thought this was going to be a coast to the finish win, with the way we got after their starter (who had not been good at all this year). After getting to him early he then goes ahead to retire 16 straight hitters.
Anyway, glad to get away from Texas and that line up.
Note: Markakis hit streak to 14 games…
reaching base streak to something like 28 straight games
……..and lastly….Andino looked good…….
Orioles win! Adam Jones star man
Orioles win. 3 run blast to give the O’s the lead for good in the
bottom of the 6th. He had 3 hits overall with 3 rbi. In fact, the top of
the line up (Roberts, Jones and Markakis) which have been nothing short of fantastic so far this year, had 9 hits, 6 rbi’s and scored 6 runs scored today. Lets not forget the 2 walks.
- Pie had a pretty nice day- a hit and a walk-looked more poised in hes at bats. Showed hes speed defensively on a fly ball chasing it down.
- Moeller is a good back up catcher to have
- Markakis extends hes hit streak to 13 games. Also continuous that crazy reaching base streak to like 27 I think.
BAD STUFF
- Bergesen was hit about by the Rangers. Murphy who was like 0-23 hit a HR off him. Still i like this young guy and how he goes about pitching.
O’s lose after late rally
First of all, Hi to everyone or anyone who is reading this. This is my first post- hopefully the first of many. The O’s almost managed to pull off a comeback win but just fell short. There were some big hits there at the end and with Jones on and Nick Markakis and Aubrey Huff up to bat …surely you would think the O’s were in great position to win- it just wasn’t to be.
I don’t think I should be talking too much now. Its 5.40 am here in London! (check the About me thing). I may be sleep talking right now but i thought id start off the blog. Although the victory was in the O’s sights and of course it would have been sweet, the O’s pretty much were outplayed for most of the game. A Rangers lead off hitter reached base in each of the first 6 innings and Hendrikson gave up 3 lead off homers in the first 3 innings costing 4 runs! Still it was a nice rally in the 9th with some big hits from the likes of Izturis, Montanez and Adam Jones. I wont forget to mention Wigginton who hit hes first HR and drove in another(nice slide Markakis) after not driving any runs in the game before, (in the Sherrill blown save game) when he had a man on 3rd with 1 out and then bases loaded with 1 out.
Also Bass did very well shutting them out for 3 2/3 innings-picking off Andrus at first too. Theres so much to talk about(as usual) just now even thinking about that Izturis/Pie mix up that helped a run score later on but hey, I think it would be wise for me to go to bed and stop rambling on.
Just to end, I caught most of the Carl Froch vs Jermain Taylor Super Middleweight world title fight—WOW! if anyone gets the chance to see the fight or any highlights do so.
